LIGHT ARCHITECTURE

“Light is not so much something that reveals, as it is itself the revelation.”

–  James Turrell

Light influences our perceptions, our moods and even our outward behaviour.A lighting designer therefore does not merely illuminate one space or form as he would another.  Each has to be given a particular scheme which not only relates to the architecture and interior design but also to economic performance.

The lighting designer has to bear in mind energy conservation, power consumption and building maintenance costs.Though these schemes may vary, the objective of lighting design remains to enhance and reveal interior spaces and exterior forms, to consider how the users of a space interact with it and how best to provide the most aesthetically functional light levels required.

Within such constraints, there is interpretation, aesthetic considerations and function to consider also…..all this leads to effective lighting.
